About

Like so many others, Tolkien's life and the works he created have inspired much that we do. However, finding websites on both Tolkien's life and film adaptations of his books proved difficult. Thus, Middle-earth News was born. We hope to bring you the most current news on all things Middle-earth, as fast as it happens. Since this news source came into being, we have joined with Middle-earth Network, a fantasy-based community. Check out our social network, My Middle-earth, and be sure to tune into Middle-earth Network Radio, broadcasting fantasy inspired music and talk shows 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Middle-earth News Team:

Arwen Kester- News Director
I'm a wife, mother of two, and a Tolkien enthusiast. I love to write and, in September 2010, began work on my first novel, now in the editing process. It never ceases to amaze me how, through the simple use of words, entire worlds can be created. And the most inspiring world for me would have to be Tolkien’s Middle-earth. Studying his life’s work is my true passion and it's a joy to track “all things Middle-earth”.

Britta- Movie Reporter
At 21 years of age, Britta has been a freelance writer and budding Tolkien Scholar for more than half her life. Equally fond of writing science fiction stories as well as essays, she hopes to one day see some of her pieces published. In the meantime, she keeps herself busy tracking all the latest updates on the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ films and playing a great deal of LOTRO. She hopes to slowly build a name for herself in the Tolkien community, with the goal of one day giving lectures on J.R.R. Tolkien and Middle-earth, at colleges and conventions alike.

Jack Machiela- NZ Movie Reporter
Jack Machiela is a Middle-earth Location Tourguide in the heart of Middle-earth - Wellington, New Zealand. He's been driving for Wellington Rover Tours since 2004, and has hosted well over 1100 LOTR tours (over 160,000kms). His love for all things Tolkien started when he first read LOTR as a teenager - driving LOTR fans around the region every day would have to be his dream job. In his "spare" time, he is also the author of the NZ Noldor Blog.

Rick- Gaming Reporter
Hi I'm Rick (Merpers) from the UK, I am 30 years old and I'm  an alcoholic, just kidding, though I am called Rick. I am a hardcore gamer and massive Tolkien fan. RPG Table Top Role-playing is my fave thing to do in my spare time. Having learnt on War Hammer then onto Dungeons and Dragons then to MERP which we are playing for around 8 years now, all in all gaming for 20 or so. If you are a Tolkien fan there is no better way to get the feeling of his World than playing it for yourself.
