Peter Jackson Releases First Image of 'The Hobbit' Dwarves

Here's your first look at what The Hobbit Dwarves will look like showcasing the three Dwarf brothers (left to right):  Nori (Jed Brophy), Ori (Adam Brown), and Dori (Mark Hadlow).

Being that there are so many Dwarves journeying to The Lonely Mountain (13 to be exact), it must have been a challenge for Peter Jackson's team to come up with ways to differentiate between each one. In this new photo, released through The Hobbit's Facebook page, it reveals their creativity, giving the three Dwarf brothers their own unique identity.

Along with the photo, a description of the Dwarf siblings was also posted: "These three brothers, all sons of the same mother, could not be more different from each other. Dori, the oldest, spends much of his time watching out for Ori, the youngest; making sure he’s not caught a chill or got himself killed by Wargs or Goblins. Nobody quite knows what Nori gets up to most of the time, except that it’s guaranteed to be dodgy and quite probably, illegal. Dori, Nori and Ori are intensely loyal to each other – and whilst they are perfectly happy fighting amongst themselves, woe-betide anyone who means harm to one of these brothers."

BREAKING: Evangeline Lilly and Barry Humphries Cast in ‘The Hobbit’

Peter Jackson announced on his Facebook page today that  Evangeline Lilly and Barry Humphries have joined The Hobbit Cast. In his post Jackson wrote:

“Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means 'daughter of Mirkwood' and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life....I'm also highly excited that Barry Humphries will be portraying the Goblin King, in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum.”

This news comes right on tail of Thursday’s casting announcements, that Benedict Cumberbatch will voice Smaug the Magnificent and Luke Evans will play Bard the Grim. The first installment of the two-part films, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, will hit theaters on December 14th, 2012 with The Hobbit: There and Back Again, following the next year on December 13th, 2013.

Martin Freeman Leaks Benedict Cumberbatch’s Involvement in ‘The Hobbit’

Thanks to Martin Freeman, who goes by Bilbo Baggins in Middle-earth, we now know his his co-star Benedict Cumberbatch (from the UK show Sherlock) has landed a part in The Hobbit. The news was leaked during the Bafta Awards this past Sunday by non other than Freeman himself who later commented about his inability to keep secrets saying, “I knew I was a sort of a big mouth but I didn't realise to what extent I was a big mouth, and I've just ruined everything...I might not actually go back to a job - they might have just sacked me." When asked what his exact roll would be in the film, Cumberbatch’s only response was, “I can't say at the moment, thank you very much." Seems he is more apt to keep the information secret and safe.

'The Hobbit' Cast Has Expanded Again With The Addition of Stephan Fry, Ryan Gage, and Conan Stevens

The Hobbit cast has expanded again! Just moments ago, Peter Jackson announced on his Facebook page the involvement of three more cast members. The ever entertaining Stephan Fry (Blackadder, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Gosford Park, V for Vendetta, Kingdom, Bones, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, etc) will be playing The Master of Laketown with Ryan Gage playing Alfrid, the Master’s civil servant. And as always in Middle-earth you need devious orcs, and who better to play the part of Azog the Orc than the towering Conan Stevens.

Along with the casting news, Peter Jackson assured fans he has the answers to the 20 Questions many posted on his Facebook page, so be on the look out! Perhaps one of them is yours...
